Local band launches guerilla concerting campaign outside 311/Snoop Dogg shows.
“Being invited on a big-ticket summer arena tour is every bar band’s ultimate dream. Austin-based Full Service is doing just that with one small exception: they were never actually invited. “Oh no. We’re not at all affiliated [with 311],” drummer/ vocalist Hoagman (born Dave Kepner) says.
Full Service’s parasitic Takeover Tour is part gimmick, part grassroots fanbase builder. The premise is simple. They are following the 311/Snoop Dogg tour as it sells out large arenas throughout the country. At each city, Full Service sets up an impromptu stage (to use the term loosely) in the parking lot, guerilla-style, and plays their own concert. Until they’re shut down, of course.”
